Solid waste project
In early 2016, GMCS was awarded a consultancy contract by Yerevan Municipality to help to improve the municipal solid waste management system in Armenia’s capital. The Yerevan Solid Waste Projects was developed due to the current technical problems and the negative environmental footprint the city’s waste management currently has.
Main project objective is construction of a new sanitary landfill, and GMCS team is providing full project implementation support, engineering design services, as well as procurement and contract supervision. Our team of local and international experts has solid practical experience in the field of solid waste management and we are confident that successful project implementation will have a significant positive impact for Yerevan’s citizens and Armenia’s environment generally.

ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL DUE DILIGENCE
The implementation of this project, using the latest methods of wastewater treatment, will allow to control the discharge of treated wastewater. The modernization of the sewage infrastructure will reduce the pollution of sea water and will have a positive impact on public health. The overall objective of the GMCS as a Consultant is to facilitate the timely and effective implementation of the Project. The Consultant shall provide assistance in procurement of good, works and services completely in accordance with the procedures, specifications and documentation of EBRD.
